Castrino Regional Knife
The Castrino folding knife is only 16 cm in length and is fitted with a traditional simple spring closing mechanism. The handle is made from fine ox horn, and the blade is in brushed 440c stainless steel.
The Castrino regional knife
This classic Scarperia compact folding knife was used in the past by veterinarians. The Castrino knife was handled half-open, with the thumb resting on the blade's extension lever, thus enabling the vet to carefully control cutting pressure when making small incisions on the animals. This springless regional knife remains open by exploiting an ancient knife-making technique whereby the blade's tang is extended and seated into a recess on the back of the handle.
