The legendary knife of the Ravenna brigand
The Passatore knife is 44 cm long open and classified as a fighting knife. It is a historic knife of the nineteenth century that belonged to a real character, the Ravenna brigand Stefano Pelloni, known as the "Passator Cortese" (1824-1851) who chose the Tuscan-Romagna Apennines as his hiding place. He became a legendary outlaw, so notorious that for many he came to represent the rebellious soul that stirred the spirit of the Risorgimento, which had risen against the severe and oppressive regime of the time. A popular legend also claimed that he gave poor families part of what he stole from rich travellers in exchange for their protection. Eventually, a bounty was placed on his head; he was betrayed and died at a young age. The Passatore legend is rekindled in our production with the knife dedicated to him and which is inspired by the original model.
