The knife of San Potito
A sturdy folding knife, the first records of the historic San Potito knife date back to the second half of the 19th century. It takes its name from the small hamlet in the municipality of Lugo, where there were originally at least three blacksmiths who made it. At the time, Romagna was part of the Papal States, which governed the population with an iron fist. Indeed, by law, the production and possession of fighting knives were forbidden, so much so that knives never bore their maker's sign to prevent them from being traced. Raw materials were scarce, so the blades were often obtained from old files or discarded bayonets. It can be said that the historical San Potito knife was used in many events as a deadly and fearsome weapon, so anyone who was attacked by it was unlikely to escape unscathed. Its ample size, steel-frame construction and four-millimetre blade thickness make it a robust and compact folding knife, ideal for duels. The open position locking system secures the blade effectively and safely.TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION
