Maremma Pianella Regional Knife
The regional folding knife with handle made from a single piece of high-quality ox horn has a 9 cm long brushed blade and a traditional single-spring assisted closure.
The Maremma Pianella knife
This blade facetted "Pianella" regional version evolved in the Maremma area as a folding knife and started to be made in Scarperia in the early 1800s, and here it took on its distinctive features. The blade underwent a gradual transformation: near the point, the spine acquired a swedge with sharp bevels on both sides. Although the production of this folding knife was abandoned after the war, the Maremma flat-bladed knife has remained completely unchanged, as show by many old catalogues dated 1914, 1924, 1930 and 1936.
