The Misericordia Historic Knife of Mercy
The Misericordia knife is a dagger of the stiletto and quadrello category. It dates back to the period between the 15th and 17th centuries when it was used to finish off the enemy after a battle. With many fallen dying or seriously wounded, a summary decision would be taken as to who had no hope of survival, and they would be dispatched with this weapon. Hence the name "Misericordia", the Mercy knife.
