Mugello Regional Hunting Knife
The handle scales of the Caccia Mugellano folding knife are made from fine ox horn, deer antler or wood applied over liners; its 440c stainless steel leaf-shaped blade is 3mm thick and 9cm long, and it is fitted with a traditional simple spring-loaded closure movement.
The hunting knife from the Mugello Region
The Mugello hunting knife with ox horn handle is the typical hunting knife. In Scarperia it was already in production and use since the early twentieth century; the older models were equipped with extractors, which disappeared with the advent of modern rifles. This is a spring-loaded folding knife with a liner frame handle, which is usually fitted with fine cow-horn or wooden scales and is particularly sturdy and popular for uses other than hunting.
