The "Senese", a classic knife from the city of Siena
This regional knife typical of the Siena area became part of the Scarperia production since the beginning of the 1800s, replacing an older model called the "scimitar" because of the hollow shape of the back of the blade towards the tip. Its shape is vaguely reminiscent of the profile of the Fiorentino, probably due to the proximity of the two cities. It is a pocket knife, with handle made from a single block of material, in the case of ox horn from a whole tip cut in half to form a recess where the blade and spring are housed. Simple with no finishing touches or metal trimmings, it is a basic regional knife, used almost daily in the past.
